What verification actually covers

Before a badge appears on a SOLVN profile, the provider uploads the supporting document and our team reviews it. Depending on the trade, that can include:

Workers' compensation (WCB / WSBC / WSIB / CNESST / PWC) — injuries on site are covered by the provincial board, not by the homeowner.
Liability insurance, $2M+ — damage caused by the work is covered.
Business licence — the business is registered to operate in its municipality.
Trade licence — provincial certification for regulated work such as electrical, gas and plumbing.
Bonded — a third party guarantees completion.
Background check — a criminal record check has been reviewed.
First aid / CPR — certified to respond to an on-site injury.

What it does not mean. SOLVN reviews documents at the time they are submitted. We do not guarantee that coverage remains active afterwards, and we do not guarantee the quality of any particular job. Homeowners should always confirm current coverage directly with the provider before a large job.

Usage rules

Only businesses with at least one approved badge on an active SOLVN profile may display it.
Don't alter the colours, proportions, or wording of the badge.
Keep the link pointing to this page, so visitors can read what verification covers.
Remove the badge if your verification lapses or your profile is closed.

Misuse — displaying the badge without an active verified profile — may be reported to support@solvn.ca and can result in removal from the platform.
