Terms & Conditions
1. Definitions
2. Account Registration
2.1 Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to register on the Platform. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement. The Platform is intended for use in Canada.
2.2 Accurate Information
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information up to date. Providing false or misleading information is grounds for immediate account suspension.
2.3 One Account Rule
Each individual may maintain only one account. Creating duplicate or fraudulent accounts is strictly prohibited.
2.4 Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activities that occur under your account. Notify us immediately at support@solvn.ca if you suspect unauthorized access.
2.5 Account Suspension
Solvn reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account at any time, with or without notice, for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion.
3. Contractor Verification
Solvn offers an optional verification program for service providers. Providers may submit the following types of documents for review:
- Business License (municipal or provincial)
- General Liability Insurance (minimum $2 million coverage)
- WorkSafeBC / WCB / WSIB / CNESST / other provincial workers' compensation coverage
- Trade License or Certificate
- Surety Bond
- RCMP or third-party Background Check
- First Aid / CPR Certification
- Government-issued ID (for identity verification)
Important: Solvn reviews submitted documents in good faith and at its sole discretion. Verification badges indicate that documents were reviewed at a point in time — they do not constitute an endorsement of the Provider's services, skills, or conduct. Solvn does not guarantee the accuracy, validity, or currency of any submitted document. Customers are encouraged to independently verify credentials before engaging any Provider.
4. Marketplace Disclaimer
Solvn is a marketplace platform only. Solvn is not an employer, contractor, or service provider. We do not perform any home services and are not a party to any agreement between Customers and Providers. All service agreements, negotiations, and transactions occur directly and exclusively between Customers and Providers as independent contracting parties.
Solvn:
- Does not control the quality, safety, timing, or legality of services provided by Contractors.
- Does not verify the accuracy of project descriptions posted by Customers.
- Is not responsible for the outcome of any service agreement between Users.
- Does not collect or remit taxes on behalf of Users.
- Is not responsible for property damage, personal injury, or financial loss arising from services performed by Providers.
This disclaimer is consistent with marketplace platforms such as Uber, TaskRabbit, and Thumbtack. By using the Platform, you expressly acknowledge and accept these limitations.
5. Payments
5.1 Platform Fees
The Platform is currently free to use for Customers. Providers may be subject to service fees as set out on the Platform from time to time. Solvn reserves the right to introduce or modify fees upon reasonable notice to Users.
5.2 Direct Transactions
All payments for services are made directly between Customers and Providers. Solvn does not currently process payments on behalf of either party and is not responsible for any payment disputes, non-payment, or chargebacks.
5.3 Taxes
Each User is solely responsible for determining and remitting applicable taxes (including GST/HST) arising from their use of the Platform or services provided through it.
6. Estimates & Invoices
An Estimate is not a contract. Estimates generated through the Platform — whether created manually by a Provider or using Solvn's AI-assisted estimation tools — are non-binding projections only. Final costs may differ based on site conditions, scope changes, or other factors.
An Invoice is not proof of completion. An Invoice issued through the Platform indicates that a Provider has requested payment. It does not confirm that work has been completed, accepted, or meets any standard of quality.
Solvn's estimate and invoice tools are provided as productivity aids. They are not legal or financial documents and should not be relied upon as such without independent verification.
7. AI Features
The Platform includes AI-powered features including, but not limited to:
- AI Cost Estimate Generator
- AI Project Description Generator
- AI Invoice and Estimate Assistant
- AI Receipt Scanner
AI-generated content is for informational purposes only. AI outputs are not legal, financial, tax, or professional advice. They may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. Users are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and accepting any AI-generated content before using it in any professional or legal context. Solvn is not liable for any decisions made in reliance on AI-generated outputs.
8. Document Vault
Providers may upload and store documents on the Platform including licenses, insurance certificates, contracts, invoices, and tax records. The following applies to all stored documents:
- The User retains full legal ownership of all uploaded documents.
- Solvn stores documents solely for the purpose of providing the Platform's services.
- Solvn does not share stored documents with third parties except as required by law or as set out in these Terms.
- Solvn does not guarantee the security or availability of stored documents and recommends that Users maintain independent copies.
9. Employee & Team Management
Provider accounts may add team members including Employees, Partners, and Subcontractors. The following applies:
- The account owner (Provider) is solely responsible for all activities conducted by team members under their account.
- Team members must meet all eligibility requirements of these Terms.
- Solvn is not responsible for disputes between account owners and their team members.
- Work logs, timesheets, and job assignments recorded on the Platform are the responsibility of the account owner to verify for accuracy.
10. Disputes
10.1 Resolution Process
In the event of a dispute between a Customer and a Provider, the following process applies:
- Step 1: Direct resolution between Customer and Provider.
- Step 2: If unresolved, either party may contact Solvn at support@solvn.ca to request informal mediation. Solvn's involvement is voluntary and at its sole discretion.
- Step 3: If mediation fails, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration in Vancouver, British Columbia, in accordance with the Arbitration Act (British Columbia).
- Step 4: Where arbitration is not applicable or enforceable, disputes shall be resolved in the courts of British Columbia.
10.2 Class Action Waiver
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to resolve disputes with Solvn on an individual basis and waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.
11. Reviews & Ratings
The following are strictly prohibited on the Platform:
- Submitting fake, fabricated, or misleading reviews.
- Offering or receiving incentives in exchange for reviews.
- Submitting reviews about competitors or parties with whom you have no direct service experience.
- Attempting to manipulate ratings through coordinated or repeated submissions.
Solvn reserves the right to remove reviews that violate these rules and to suspend accounts engaged in review manipulation.
12. Messaging Rules
Users must not use the Platform's messaging features to:
- Harass, threaten, or intimidate other Users.
- Transmit hate speech, discriminatory content, or offensive material.
- Conduct or facilitate fraud, misrepresentation, or identity theft.
- Send unsolicited commercial messages or spam.
- Share personal contact information for the purpose of circumventing the Platform.
Violations may result in immediate account suspension and may be reported to relevant law enforcement authorities.
13. Prohibited Conduct
In addition to the above, Users agree not to:
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose.
- Post false, misleading, or fraudulent project descriptions or bids.
- Impersonate any person or entity.
- Upload malicious code or interfere with the Platform's operation.
- Circumvent the Platform by conducting transactions outside of Solvn for work initiated through the Platform.
- Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access or scrape the Platform.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Solvn and Bid the Fix Inc. and their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, and successors shall not be liable for:
- Any errors, defects, or delays in services performed by Providers.
- Property damage or personal injury arising from services arranged through the Platform.

- Loss of data, revenue, or profits arising from use of the Platform.

15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.
16. Changes to These Terms
Solvn reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the Platform or by email. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
