When you register or use the Platform, we may collect:

Providers who apply for verification badges may submit:
- Government-issued identification
- Business license (municipal or provincial)
- General liability insurance certificate
- WorkSafeBC / WCB / provincial workers' compensation documentation
- Trade licenses and certifications
- Background check results
- First Aid / CPR certifications
Verification documents are stored securely and reviewed solely for the purpose of issuing verification badges. We do not share these documents with Customers or third parties except as required by law.

- Projects posted, bids submitted, and bid outcomes
- Messages exchanged between Users on the Platform
- Ratings and reviews submitted
- Notifications sent and read status
- AI tool usage (estimate generation, project description, receipt scanning)

We may collect location data in the following circumstances:
- City and province provided at registration for project matching
- Job site address provided in project descriptions or work logs
- GPS location, if you explicitly grant location permission in the app (e.g., for check-in/check-out features)
Precise GPS tracking is only activated with your explicit permission. You may withdraw this permission at any time through your device settings.
1.7 Employee and Team Data
For Provider accounts with team members, we may collect and store:
- Employee names and contact information
- Work logs, timesheets, and attendance records
- Job assignments and project involvement history
- Partner and subcontractor information
1.8 Business Vault Data
Providers may upload and store documents in the Platform's Document Vault, including:
- Invoices and estimates
- Contracts and agreements
- Insurance certificates
- Licenses and trade certifications
- Tax records and receipts
You retain full legal ownership of all documents you upload. Solvn stores these documents solely to provide the Platform's services and does not use them for any other purpose.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal information for the following purposes:
- Providing the Platform: Account management, project posting, bid processing, messaging, and notifications.
- Verification: Reviewing submitted credentials and issuing verification badges.
- Matching: Connecting Customers with Providers in the same geographic area.
- Communications: Sending service-related notifications, system messages, and support responses.
- Platform Improvement: Analyzing usage patterns to improve features and fix bugs.
- AI Features: Processing project details to generate AI-powered estimates, descriptions, and invoices.
- Security and Fraud Prevention: Detecting and preventing unauthorized access, fraud, and abuse.
- Legal Compliance: Meeting obligations under Canadian law, including PIPEDA and CASL.
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:
3.1 Between Users
- Customer project descriptions and city/province are visible to Providers who are browsing open projects.
- Provider profiles, ratings, badges, and business information are visible to Customers reviewing bids.
- After a bid is awarded, the winning Provider's contact information may be shared with the Customer and vice versa.
3.2 Service Providers
We use the following third-party services to operate the Platform:
- Google Firebase: Authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Messaging (FCM) — data stored in the United States.
- Anthropic (Claude AI): AI-powered features including estimate generation, project description, and receipt scanning. Only project-related details are sent; no personally identifiable information is transmitted.
- Payment Processors: Third-party payment processors handle financial transactions. Solvn does not store full payment card details.
3.3 Legal Disclosure
We may disclose your information to government authorities, law enforcement, or regulators when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Solvn or its Users.
3.4 Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring party. You will be notified of any such change via email or a prominent notice on the Platform.
4. Data Retention
Once retention periods expire, data is either irreversibly anonymized or securely deleted.
5. Your Rights
Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation, you have the following rights:
Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
Request deletion of your account and associated data, subject to legal retention requirements.
Request a portable copy of your data in a commonly used format.
Request that we limit the processing of your data in certain circumstances.
Withdraw consent to marketing communications or optional data collection at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@solvn.ca. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) at 1-800-282-1376 or priv.gc.ca.
6. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including:
- Encrypted data transmission using SSL/TLS
- Firestore Security Rules limiting data access to authorized Users only
- Firebase Authentication for secure login and session management
- API keys stored in Firebase Secret Manager (not exposed client-side)
- Role-based access controls for administrative functions
No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
7. Push Notifications
We send push notifications to your device for bid updates, project status changes, new messages, and system alerts. Your device's FCM token is stored in your user profile to enable delivery. You may disable push notifications at any time through your device settings. This will not affect your ability to use the Platform, though you may miss time-sensitive updates.
8. AI Features and Data
The Platform includes AI-powered tools that process project-related information to generate estimates, descriptions, invoices, and receipt summaries. When you use these features:
- Project details (title, category, description) are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for processing.
- No personally identifiable information (name, email, phone) is included in AI requests.
- AI-generated outputs are not stored by Anthropic and are not used to train AI models under our agreement.
- All AI outputs are informational only and do not constitute legal, financial, or professional advice.
9. Children's Privacy
The Platform is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us at support@solvn.ca and we will promptly delete the account.
10. Marketing Communications
By creating an account, you opt in to receiving occasional service-related communications and, where you have consented, promotional emails. All marketing emails include an unsubscribe link. You may also opt out at any time by contacting support@solvn.ca. Withdrawing from marketing communications will not affect delivery of service-related notifications.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the Platform or by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
